  • Outer Wing Repair
    • Unable to now contact Ron Maddox from Ugly Blasters in order to schedule the blasting of the wing section. I have inquiries out to two more companies, awaiting their reply.
  • Bulkhead Channels
    • Bulkhead pieces are still being cut and drilled, with the finished pieces being etched and Alodined.
  • C-47
    • Continued work on installation of newly recovered cockpit panels.
    • Completed repair of inner and outer door.
    • Battery elevators reconditioned including corrosion mitigation.
    • New wooden battery trays constructed.
    • Repair stuck rudder trim tab
  • Bonanza
    • Assisted Bob with replacement of defective nozzle.
    • Fabricated special tool for removal and installation of nozzle. (copy of borrowed tool)

  • Outer Wing Repair
    • Work continued on repairing the outer wing.
    • Researching the use of Dustless Blasting to remove soot and paint. Waiting for quotes and more information.
  • Work on Throttle Quadrant
    • Work on throttle quadrant has resumed.
    • New panels fabricated, original panels and parts reconditioned where possible.
  • Bulkhead Channels
    • Bulkhead pieces sorted and wrapped. Each bundle represents one bulkhead.  Sets stored on shelves.
    • Began the cutting and drilling process using the fiberglass templates.
  • C-47
    • New cockpit panels fabricated where needed.
    • Modified gear handle latch per Bob.
  • White Tug
    • Rebuilt master cylinder, brakes are operational now.
    • Replaced transmission lines, radiator hoses and belt.
    • Wired alternator and sorted previous wiring problems.
    • Tug is now in service.
  • Bonanza
    • Installed HSI.
    • Installed glare shield.
    • Replaced broken warning horn in glare shield.
    • All work done under supervision by Bob Harless.

March 2017

  • Continue work on the outer wing.
  • Continue work on bulkheads.
  • Continue work on throttle quadrant.
  • Continue assistance where needed on the C-47.

  • Outer Wing Repair
    Work continued on repairing the outer wing.
    We received the hardness tester last week and have begun evaluating the wing’s structure for air-worthiness.
  • Landing Gear Retract Step and Bomb bay lower skin ribs. Completed the starboard side ribs and landing gear retract step. The port side (Lake plane) will be sent to Ray Moore as he has access to a suitable sheer and brake to fabricate the skins.
  • Assisted Bob Harless. Assisted Bob removing ski parts from the C-47
